Historical

  • Before 1990

    • The French-speaking community of Charlottetown was grouped with those of Rustico and Souris under the entity Char-Rus-Sou.

    • The growing Francophone population necessitated the creation of a dedicated space in Charlottetown. The Carrefour de l'Isle-Saint-Jean project took shape in a building on Richmond Street in the city centre.

  • 1991

    • The current building, which houses the Carrefour, École François-Buote, the Île Enchantée daycare, and the Dr. J. Edmond Arsenault Library, was inaugurated. Under one roof, one finds everything essential for living in French in Charlottetown.

    • From its opening, the Carrefour offered its spaces for community classes; dance, music, French classes.

  • 2016
